Soccer Steps Academy is a weekly, 1-hour group training program focused on developing skill, confidence and creative play. There will be considerable emphasis on the individual developmental needs of the player. The sessions will develop good first touch, changes of direction, feints, scanning, combination play and finishing. Small sided games will also provide a useful framework to develop the above aspects of play. The coaching will be challenging and fun whilst being adjusted to the ability of the individual players.
The head coach, Jim Lowther is a former Academy coach and sport scientist who worked at three FA Premier League Academies(Charlton FC, Wimbledon FC and Crystal Palace FC). He has also developed award winning grassroots football development programmes and activities at Premier League level in England.
